Hybrid Model: 3 days per week from office

Introduction to role

Are you ready to take on a pivotal role that shapes the future of our supply chains? As a Global Supply and Strategy Director (GSSD) at AstraZeneca, you'll be at the forefront of establishing and optimising supply chain design and performance for a portfolio of products within our key Therapy Areas. Your strategic vision will drive excellent customer service, responsiveness, and cost-effectiveness throughout the product lifecycle. Representing your supply chains on Global Product cross-functional Teams, you'll be the vital link maintaining relationships across our Oncology and Biopharma Business Units!

Accountabilities

  • Apply your knowledge and expertise to build, establish and optimise product supply chains throughout the lifecycle for a portfolio of products within a Therapy Area. This may require you to make recommendations for investment decisions, demonstrating your supply chain financial acumen.
  • Provide product/brand leadership to other senior managers within the Operations and represent Operations and product supply on AstraZeneca's Global Product Teams and in other senior product stakeholder forums.
  • Optimise performance of current supply chains including using lean methodologies to improve supply chain lead time.
  • Have accountability for improving your product Cost Of Goods throughout the lifecycle.
  • Work across the Global Supply group to deliver end-to-end Supply Chain operational performance KPIs and support initiatives to optimise inventory.
  • Own and manage the product business continuity plans for your brands and ensure a constant state of readiness to ensure product supply.
  • Lead and advise a matrixed team to complete the brand strategy and seamless key supply chain changes.
  • Deliver successful, seamless, timely new product launches to parameters agreed with our Oncology and Biopharma Business Units.
  • Direct, manage and represent multi-region supply issue resolution to successful conclusion, including demand allocation.

Essential Skills/Experience

  • Independently proficient in supply chain management, lean supply chains, data integrity.
  • Demonstrated mastery of supply strategy development, influencing, collaboration, enterprise thinking, relationship management, financial acumen, product costing and business case development experience.
  • A comprehensive understanding of product development, manufacturing and supply management and how other functions contribute to achieving the Supply Chain objectives of the business.
  • Demonstrated success working cross-functionally and influencing to senior levels of the organization.
  • Through knowledge of lean as it supplies to supply chains.
  • Understanding of global, regional and local environments to identify risks, and develop robust supply chains that deliver product in the real world.
  • A detailed understanding of the pharmaceutical or broader healthcare/FMCG industries and an understanding of the global context and its application to business opportunities.
  • Previous experience in a supply-chain management or related role.
  • Previous experience in at least two operations, or product development roles/functions.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (written, visual, virtual).
